Prof. Anand Patwardhan

Anand Patwardhan is Professor at SJMSOM and served as the Executive Director of the Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council, an autonomous organization in the Ministry of Science & Technology. He holds adjunct faculty positions at Carnegie Mellon University and at the School of Public Policy, Georgia Tech.

Anand has worked extensively with industry, government and international organizations as a consultant and an advisor. He was a lead author of the third & fourth assessment reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment. He is a member of the Scientific and Technical Advisory Panel (STAP) of the Global Environment Facility (GEF); of the Scientific Steering Committee of the Global Carbon Project and of the Expert Committee on Climate Change of the Government of India.

Prof. Arti D. Kalro

Arti D. Kalro is an Assistant Professor in the field of Advertising. Her areas of research include Advertising and Persuasion, Comparative Advertising and Integrated Marketing Communication. Before joining SJMSoM, she worked as a lecturer at School of Communications and Media Studies, M.O.P. Vaishnav College for Women, Chennai and as a Guest Faculty at IIT Madras and Chennai Business School. Her teaching interests include Advertising, Integrated Marketing Communications, Marketing Management, Marketing Research and Media Studies. She has published in international journals and also, presented in many international conferences.

Prof. Ashish Pandey

Prof. Pandey is an Assistant Professor of OB/HRM area. He has ten years of working experience in industry, research and consulting. Before joining SJMSoM he was leading Research & Development function at Pragati Leadership Institute, a Pune based consulting organization which works in the area of organization and leadership development. Along with research and development he has been involved in training and consulting work in the areas of people development. His main training and consulting assignments had been with Adore Welding, BMC Software, Indo-German Tool Room, Novartis Pharmaceuticals, Wipro, etc. His research papers, inventory and approach notes have appeared in several leading national and international journals and periodical like Pfeiffer Annual of training and consulting; Journal of European Industrial Training; Journal of Business Ethics; Psychological Studies; Indian Journal of Training and Development, Global Business Review, Times Ascent etc. His doctoral research work on ‘Spiritual Climate and its Impact on Customers’ experience’ has received awards at different national and international forums held at Infosys Leadership Institute (Mysore), Indian Institute of Science (Bangalore) and Indian Institute of Management (Indore).

Prof. Atanu Ghosh

Prof. Ghosh has extensive industrial experience with organisations like Calico Mills, Arvind Mills Ltd., Bombay Dyeing, Mafatlal Industries Ltd. and Hindustan Spinning & Weaving Mills. He has worked on Consultancy assignments for Godrej & Boyce on Strategy Formulation for Prima Division, CII on Sector Study of Indian Apparel Industry, Right Sizing of Officers in SBI Corporate Centre, and Assessment of economic viability of an NGO funded by Swiss Development Agency. His areas of interest include Strategic Management, Services Marketing, Relationship Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Leadership etc.

Prof. A.T. Kusre

Prof. Anand Kusre has worked in the areas of technology development and commercialization for over 25 years having led national and international programmes. He has been one of the pioneers of early-stage financing of technology ventures in India. He was instrumental in introduction of Management of Technology programmes in leading technology and management institutes in India. He is associated with the major Science and Technological initiatives launched by the Government of India and leading financial institutions. His fields of interest include Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Management of New Ventures.

Prof. Dinesh Sharma

Prof.Sharma comes with diverse experience in marketing – as practitioner, researcher and teacher. His areas of interest in teaching are marketing strategy, marketing research, brand management, sales and distribution management. His areas of interest in research are marketing strategy, consumer value and brands. He has published papers in many peer reviewed international journals and also has written case studies.

Prof. Gajendra Kumar Adil

He has worked as Asst. Professor, Bilkent University, Turkey and City University of Hongkong. He also worked as technology transfer consultant at i2 Technologies, USA and as Industrial engineer at Bristol Aerospace Ltd. His publications have appeared in leading journals such as Operations Research, IIE Transactions, International Transactions in Operational Research, European Journal of Operational Research, International Journal of Production Research and Journal of Manufacturing Systems. His fields of interest include operations management and decision sciences.

Prof. Hans Huber

Dr. Hans Huber is an Associate Professor at SJMSOM. His teaching and research activities relate mostly to Strategy and Aviation Management. Within these fields he engages in extensive case development for executive and continuing education programs. His research amounts to over 40 papers and case studies that were published or presented at peer-reviewed international conferences. Scientific articles were published in Journal of Transport Policy, Journal of Air Transport Management, International Journal of Mgmt. & Network Economics, among others. His business background comprises 8 years working as associate auditor with Deloitte, Touche & Tohmatsu in Munich, as Acting Director of a sales office for infrastructure equipment near Paris, and as research associate with IMD, Lausanne. He holds a PhD from HEC, University of Geneva (Switzerland) and an MBA from UC Berkeley.

Prof. Indrajit Mukherjee

Dr. Indrajit Mukherjee is an Assistant Professor at SJMSOM. A Ph.D. from the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management, IIT Kharagpur and M.Tech. (Quality, Reliability & Operations Research) from Indian Statistical Institute, Calcutta. Before joining SJMSOM, he worked as Lecturer in the School of Management Sciences, Bengal Engineering and Sciences University, Shibpur, and Department of Mechanical Engineering at BITS, Pillani, Rajasthan. He also worked as a Senior Engineer in Tata Motors Limited, Pune. His publications have appeared in leading journals such as Computers and Industrial Engineering, Applied Soft Computing, Journal of Material Processing Technology, and International Journal of Intelligent Systems Technologies and Applications. His areas of research interest include Operations Management , Quality Engineering and Management.

Prof. (Ms) Karuna Jain

Prof. (Ms.) Karuna Jain is Professor of Technology & Operations Management at Shailesh J Mehta School of Management, Indian Institute of Technology – Bombay, Mumbai India. Being as electrical engineer, she worked as an IES officer in DoT (Govt. of India) for three years before joining IIT Bombay. A PhD from IIT Kharagpur, Prof. Jain has extensive industrial and teaching experience in the field of Operations and Technology Management. Her current areas of research interest include Technology and Innovations Management, Supply Chain Management, Project Management, and Intellectual Property Right. She has published extensively in national and international journal and participated in international conferences in the area of Technology and Operations management (IAMOT, POMS, PICMET, WCIC and IFTM).

She has been elected as Vice President, Programs and Meeting, Indian Subcontinent Region of Decision Sciences Institute (DSI). She is a Member, Education Committee of the Production and Operations Management Society (POMS). She has also been awarded “Emerald Literati Network 2007 Awards for Excellence” for her joint paper published in Journal of Intellectual Capital.

Prof. Kirankumar Momaya

His  research interests include role of business and organizational excellence, management of technology and  innovation, processes, collaborations and growth strategies for competitiveness. He worked with the Department of Management Studies, IIT Delhi as a core faculty for more than a decade and made several unique contributions. He has done select projects in Japan including one at the Institute of Innovation Research, Hitotsubashi University, Tokyo and has also worked with Shimizu Corporation. He has contributed in editorial roles to journals such as the International Journal of Global Business and Competitiveness (IJGBC), Journal of Advances in Management Research (JAMR) and Global Journal of Flexible Systems Management (Giftjournal). He has authored/edited (singly/jointly) two books and published more than 45 papers in refereed national and international journals. He enjoys working with energetic teams and members willing to take challenges in tough contexts.

Prof. T T Niranjan

T. T. Niranjan is Assistant Professor of Supply Chain Management at SJMSOM, IIT Bombay. Prior to this, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of Logistics Management, ETH Zurich. Before entering academia, Niranjan was an IAF officer. Now, Niranjan’s research and teaching interests revolve around supply chain management and service operations. He has published articles in elite academic and practitioner journals such as Decision Sciences, Journal of Operations Management and Industrial Engineer.

Prof. Pankaj Dutta

Dr. Pankaj Dutta is an Assistant Professor in the field of Quantitative Methods and Operations Research. Before joining SJMSOM, he has served as a Lecturer at BITS Pilani, Rajasthan. He has also worked as Visiting Fellow at EPFL, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne, Switzerland. His current areas of research interest include Supply Chain Modeling and Optimization, Production Planning and Retail Inventory Management, Reverse Logistics, Project Scheduling, Mathematical Finance and Decision-Making under Risk and Uncertainty. He is also interested in System Simulation, Fuzzy set theory and its application to Industrial Engineering Management and other relevant research fields. He pioneered the concept of fuzzy random demand in the field of Inventory Systems. He has publications in international journals like European Journal of Operational Research, International Journal of Systems Science, Computer and Mathematics with Application, Lecture Notes in Electrical Engineering, International Journal of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Mathematical and Computer Modeling, International Journal of Operational Research.

Prof. Rahul Patil

Prof. Rajendra Sonar

Before joining to the School, Prof. Sonar had worked as an Assistant Professor at National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM) in IT Area Group. He was involved in various consultancy assignments of various public sector banks and had conducted MDPs on various IT topics and their applications to banking and finance. His areas of interests include Knowledge-based Systems, Hybrid Intelligent Systems and their applications to Management, Computer Based Information Systems.

Prof. Shivganesh Bhargava

He is Professor of Organizational Behavior & Human Resource Management. He has been faculty at IIM, Lucknow. His major international research publications are in the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, Journal of Social Psychology, and International Journal of Human Resource Management & Development and book from Response (Sage) Publications. Research, teaching, and consulting/training interest areas are Competency Assessment and Talent Development including Giftedness, Performance Management, Entrepreneurship Development including Creativity & Innovation, Emotional Intelligence, Value Based Leadership, Organizational Health, Management of Family and Career, Human Resource Planning including Outsourcing & Call Centers, Managing Knowledge Managers, Management of Human Service Organizations: NGOs, and Reward Management

Prof. S. Narayan Rao

Prof S N Rao is Professor of Finance at Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management, IIT Bombay. He has been a core faculty member at UTI Institute of Capital Markets (now Indian Institute of Capital Markets), Navi Mumbai, The Institute of Chartered Financial Analyst of India (ICFAI), Hyderabad; PSG Institute of Management, Coimbatore; Institute of Technology and Management, Mumbai and has also been the coordinator of ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad. His publications appeared in Eurasian Review of Economics and Finance, Vikalpa, Decision, ICFAI Journal of Applied Finance and other leading professional journals. He conducted and taught in many MDPs in the area of Finance. He presented research papers in annual conferences of professional associations (Northern Finance Association, Financial Management Association International, Eastern Finance Association, Mid-west Finance Association…)  held in Canada, USA, Germany, Switzerland, Malaysia, Australia and Japan. His areas of interest include  Corporate Finance; Behavioral Finance; Capital Markets; Security Analysis and Portfolio Management; Financial Engineering; Valuation, Mergers & Acquisitions.

Prof. S.V.D. Nageswara Rao

His areas of interest are Corporate Finance, and Capital Markets. He was Senior Analyst with ICRA Ltd., New Delhi. Prof. Rao has advised a team of analysts on valuation of equity shares of 8 PSUs referred to ICRA by the Disinvestment Commission, Govt. of India.

Prof. Shishir Kumar Jha

His teaching and research interests include Theorizing and analyzing sustainable and democratic alternatives of globalization, Copyright and the Public Domain, Geo-Political Environment and International Business, Comparative Impact Of Globalization, Impact Of Globalization On Indian Society, WTO and Global Political Economy, Indian Society and Political Economy of the Third World, International Relations.

Prof. (Ms) Trupti Mishra

Dr. Trupti Mishra is Assistant Professor of Economics at Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management, IIT Bombay. Before Joining SJMSOM, She has worked as Assistant Professor at IIT Kharagpur and Faculty member at ICFAI Business School. Her area of research is mainly environmental economics. Her teaching interest includes Managerial Economics, Economic Environment of Business, International Finance and Trade and Applied Econometrics. She has also published papers in International Journal of Environment and Development, Anvesak, Productivity and ICFAI Journal of Environmental Economics and Industrial Economics.

Prof.(Ms.) Usha Ananthakumar

She is an Associate Professor in the field of Quantitative techniques and her teaching areas are Statistics and Operations Research. Her research interests include Statistical Pattern Recognition, Statistical Inference and Statistical Quality Control.

Prof. Varadraj Bapat

Being a Chartered Accountant, Dr. CA. Varadraj Bapat has consulting and teaching experience of 15 years in Accounting, Audit and Finance. He has obtained professional qualifications in Chartered Accountancy, Cost Accountancy, and Information System Audit before obtaining PHD from IIT, Bombay. He has been a faculty at Somaiya and NITIE. He has published a book titled “Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management.” He has also presented/ published in national and international conferences/ journals. His areas of research are Accounting Standards, Managerial Finance, Portfolio Management, Developmental Finance and Taxation. His teaching interest includes Managerial Accounting, Financial Accounting and Cost Accounting. He conducted and taught in many MDPs in the area of Accounting and Finance.

Prof. Vinish Kathuria

Dr. Vinish Kathuria is an Associate Professor at Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management. His teaching and research activities relate to economics mainly in the fields of Industrial Economics and economics of Industrial and Urban pollution. Before joining SJM SOM, he was on Fulbright Senior Researcher fellowship to University of Colorado, Boulder (US). He has several publications in international journals including Oxford Economic Papers, Ecological Economics, Applied Economics, Journal of International Development, Transportation Research, Technological Forecasting and Social Change among others. He has pursued his post-doc from University of Gothenburg, Sweden in the area of Environmental Economics and Ph.D. internship from United Nations University / Institute for New Technologies (UNU/INTECH), Maastricht, The Netherlands. His thesis was short-listed by UNESCO for its Management of Social Transformation (MOST) award in the year 2000-01.
