Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) is a well known technology institute in the country and the world. Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management (SJMSOM) is an academic unit within IITB providing management education since 1995. The School has grown steadily over the years and has carved a niche for itself in the landscape of management education and research.

The school offers two post-graduate programmes: master of management (M.Mgt) and doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.). We provide a well-rounded curriculum and training to our students and prepare them to meet the challenges they face ahead in their professional life after they graduate from here. SJMSOM has a blend of experienced and young full time faculty engaged in teaching, research and outreach activities. Situated in Mumbai, the school is able to draw a good pool of visiting faculty from industry in select disciplines where we believe the industry input can add great value to our M.Mgt programme. SJMSOM being the part of IITB offers the students some unique advantages over many other B-schools in the country. It provides access to much more diverse student population, elective courses outside management discipline, IITB central library, green campus and rich campus life that is comparable to the best of the world.

While M.Mgt students get opportunity to interact with students and faculty associated in technology domain such as IT, Bio-informatics, industrial design, rural development, transportation planning to appreciate technology challenges and associated management dimensions, Ph.D. students can explore possibility of joint research with research fraternity in engineering and technology and humanities and social science fields.  IITB houses in its campus the Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SINE) through which the students get opportunity to interface with and learn from the experience of budding ventures. The school is one of the five select founding member institutes of the National Entrepreneurship Network. The activities of the Entrepreneurship Cell, or e-cell as it is fondly called, are mostly coordinated by our students.

We have industry leaders interacting with the students through various activities that are organized by students and faculty. We have a sizeable alumni base serving at middle and senior level positions in various private and public sector organizations.
