Avenues is the annual Business Festival of Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management, IIT Bombay. The 12th Edition of Avenues kicked off in extravagant style on 21st of October and continued till 23rd of October, 2016. Witnessing a footfall of more than 10000 students from the top business and engineering schools as well as faculty and corporate professionals, it saw several epoch-making events that shaped the year to come. Based on the relevant and happening theme of "Discover the Difference", Avenues 2016 provided the participants with several opportunities to think out of the box and come up with innovative case study solutions.
Alankar, the annual Global Leadership Summit and the flagship event of Avenues every year saw dignitaries from various walks of life such as Mr. Saugata Gupta (CEO of Marico Ltd.); renowned writer and mythologist, Mr. Devdutt Pattanaik; renowned actors, Mr. Sushant Singh Rajput and Ms. Tisca Chopra and the MD and CEO of NCDEX, Mr. Samir Shah.
Informals and cultural events are always looked forward to by students and Avenues '16 had a healthy mix of both. Be it a roaring welcome to the flash mob or a socially relevant nukkad natak, arts too found a place at Avenues '16.
Avenues 2016 was power packed with the introduction of additional contemporary competitions. The flagship events included Virtual Trading, Qwest and Navonmesh.
Avenues also welcomed students from across India for the annual sports fest, Prithvi. IIT Bombay has some of the best sports facilities in the country and participants made the best of these facilities to create lasting memories.
The final evening, students brought the three-day celebration to a close at the Avenues Pronite which saw Tulsi Kumar belting out some of her most famous musical numbers.
