Avenues is the annual Business Festival of Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management, IIT Bombay. The 13th Edition of Avenues kicked off in extravagant style on 27th of October and continued till 29th of October, 2017. Witnessing a footfall of more than 10000 students from the top business and engineering schools as well as faculty and corporate professionals, it saw several epoch-making events that shaped the year to come. Based on the relevant and happening theme of "Unleash the Hero Within", Avenues 2017 provided the participants with several opportunities to think out of the box and come up with innovative solutions.
Alankar, the annual Global Leadership Summit and the flagship event of Avenues every year saw dignitaries from various walks of life such as Ms. Apurva Purohit (MD & CEO of Jagran Group), legendary journalist Mr. Rajdeep Sardesai, world-renowned choreographer Mr. Terence Lewis, and Mr. Sadashiv Nayak , the CEO of Future Group and Ms. Raveena Tandon, activist and actor.
A new segment of Alankar named Reveur was introduced where the leading entrepreneurs of the country interacted with the brightest minds on campus which led to a healthy exchange of ideas. The list included the likes of CredR, Bewakoof.com and Bakkbenchers.
Informals and cultural events are always looked forward to by students and Avenues '17 had a healthy mix of both. Be it a roaring welcome to the flash mob or a socially relevant Nukkad Natak, the arts found a place at Avenues '17. History was made at Avenues '17 when young Nikhil Soares solved 151 Rubik's cubes in 42 minutes on a skateboard.
Avenues also welcomed students from across India for the annual sports fest, Prithvi. IIT Bombay has some of the best sports facilities in the country and participants made the best of these facilities to create worth-while memories.
The final evening, students got together to bring the three-day long celebration to a close at the Avenues Pronite which saw Shradha Pandit belting out some of her most famous musical numbers.
