Avenues is the Annual International Business festival of Shailesh. J. Mehta School of Management, IIT Bombay. Comprising of more than 20 events, and a participation of more than 5000 budding managers and professionals, Avenues 2015 took off with flying colors on October 30th, 31st and November 1st and saw a magnificent opening.
Avenues 2015, through its theme "Innovate,Improvise,Implement", aimed to provide the participants with a holistic experience of management life. It was an amalgamation of nerve-racking events ranging from those related to various domains like Operations, Consulting, HR, Finance, Marketing to the fun filled on the spot events. This year we also introduced “Prithvi”, our sporting extravaganza which was a roaring success.
Alankar- The Global Leadership Summit saw a very diverse portfolio of distinguished speakers who shared their valuable insights and secrets of their success. Alankar saw participation of highly eminent speakers, all of them showcasing a myriad of talents and accomplishments that they achieved at a very early age.
Day One was graced by the presence of Mr. Siddharth Roy Kapur, the Managing Director of Disney India who talked about his experience as an MBA student himself and how that has got him to the heights in his career today.
The sessions that followed welcomed very prominent personalities including Ms. Ameera Shah, MD and CEO of Metropolis Healthcare Ltd., Ms. Anjum Chopra the Ex- Captain of India’s Women Cricket Team & Mr. Kunal Kapoor, Actor and the Founder of Ketto, a crowdfunding platform.
Avenues 2015 was power packed with the introduction of additional contemporary competitions including Vivakrita, our all new Flagship event on Change Management. Other flagship events included Ashwamedh, Mahayodha and Navomesh.
This year also saw for the very first time a Rubik’s cube championship with a participation of over 100 national and international players competing in different forms of the game.
Prithvi, our sports event had a diverse collection of sports including Basketball, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Cricket, Carrom and the very ingenious game of Futsal.
The 3 day extravaganza closed with the musical extravaganza of Avenues 2015 – Pronite in association with Mood Indigo (IIT Bombay’s annual festival). The evening hosted an amazing musical event showcasing“Bhaag Milkha Bhaag” famed singer Siddharth Mahadevan accompanied with the gorgeous sister singing duo Sukriti and Prakriti Kakkar. The rocking and symphonic show made the budding managers dance till they shook the floor up.
