Avenues is the annual Business Festival of Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management, IIT Bombay. The 14th Edition of Avenues was kicked off in extravagant style on 26th of October and continued till 28th of October, 2018. Witnessing a footfall of more than 10000 students from the top business and engineering schools as well as faculty and corporate professionals, it saw several spectacular events that shaped the year to come. Based on the relevant and happening theme of "Diversity over Uniformity", Avenues 2018 provided the participants with several opportunities to think out of the box and come up with innovative solutions.
Alankar, the annual Global Leadership Summit and the flagship event of Avenues every year saw dignitaries from various walks of life. This year we had two pre-Alankar events which were graced by Mr. Subramanian Swamy, one of the greatest economists, statistician and MP of Rajya Sabha and legendary Australian pacer and Global Hearing Ambassador for Cochlear, Mr. Brett Lee. Other dignitaries included Ms. Debarati Sen (MD of 3M) , Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Business World, Mr. Anurag Batra; eminent author and entrepreneur Mr. Ashwin Sanghi and Mr. Satyajit Bhatkal, the CEO of Paani Foundation.
Informals and cultural events are always looked forward to by students and Avenues '18 had a healthy mix of both. Be it a roaring welcome to the flash mob or a socially relevant Nukkad Natak, arts too found a place at Avenues '18.
Avenues 2018 was power packed with the introduction of additional contemporary competitions. The flagship events included Mahayodha, Mulyaankan and On your Mark.
Avenues also welcomed students from across India for the annual sports fest, Prithvi. IIT Bombay has some of the best sports facilities in the country and participants made the best of these facilities to create lasting memories.
The final evening, students got together to bring the three-day celebrations to a close at the Avenues Comedy-Nite which had Piyush Kumar regale the audience with his rib-tickling show.
