The field of consulting has come to the fore in the past few years. From the initial days of providing the outsider’s perspective, a consultant is now viewed as a key cog in the organizational wheels and intrinsic to the company’s strategy. The Consulting Continuum explores myriad aspects across sectors, by initiating discussions on issues at the forefront of the consulting profession. Each Consulting Continuum consists of a series of events centred on a particular theme. Eminent speakers from industry and students of management and engineering institutes converge for an entire day’s event consisting of a lecture series followed by a panel discussion.

The Consulting Continuum 2009 will be the first event in Continuum 2009 series. It will be organized on 14 March 2009 with a theme reflecting the current trends and challenges facing global businesses. The Consulting Continuum 2009 will see a series of lectures and panel discussions on the theme.

The one-day event will bring together a host of industry consultants in various areas, students from various B-schools and students from other disciplines at IIT Bombay. The interaction will help the students gain insights into the real world of consulting and understand the contribution of consultants.

Theme
Businesses, across the world, were growing rapidly till recently and they were focusing on growth strategies only. It has been an unbelievably long run of success and bonhomie, but suddenly the road ahead is cluttered with various possibilities, some palatable others grim. In these uncertain times, the consulting firms carry the added responsibility of helping their clients in making the right choices and leading them along the proper path.

 

It is in this context, that Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management, IIT Bombay brings forth “Consulting Continuum 2009” with the theme “Hard Times Come Hand in Hand with Opportunities:  A Consultant’s Perspective”.
