Prof. Ghosh has extensive industrial experience with organisations like Calico Mills, Arvind Mills Ltd., Bombay Dyeing, Mafatlal Industries Ltd. and Hindustan Spinning & Weaving Mills. He has worked on Consultancy assignments for Godrej & Boyce on Strategy Formulation for Prima Division, CII on Sector Study of Indian Apparel Industry, Right Sizing of Officers in SBI Corporate Centre, and Assessment of economic viability of an NGO funded by Swiss Development Agency. His areas of interest include Strategic Management, Services Marketing, Relationship Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Leadership etc.

She has served as Director of National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE) from 2013-2019, Head of SJM School of Management IIT Bombay from 2007 – 2012 and MHRD IPR Chair at IIT Bombay from 2011 to 2014.
Her current areas of research and teaching interest includes Strategic Management of Technology and Innovation, Managing Intellectual Property, Project Management and Supply Chain Management. She has published in national and international journals (DSJ, EJOR, NRQ, IJPE, IEEE- TEM, IJPR, PPC, and TFSC, TSM) and participated in national (ISDSI, ORSI, PMIRAC, POMS India, SOM) and international conferences in the area of Technology and Operations management (IAMOT, MIPS, PICMET, PMI and POMS). She has also been awarded “Emerald Literati Network 2007 Awards for Excellence” for her joint paper published in Journal of Intellectual Capital.
With her interwoven technical and managerial expertise, she currently serves on numerous academic, professional and government bodies in various capacities like President POMS India Chapter for years 2020 and 2021, Board Member of IAMOT 2019 and 2022. Director, PMI Global Accreditation Center for Project Management Education Programs (PMI-GAC) from Jan 2018 to Dec 2023. She was president, Indian Subcontinent Region of Decision Sciences Institute (ISDSI) for two terms 2009 and 2010. She was chairperson of Academic Advisory, Project Management Institute- India for the years 2013, 2014 and 2015.
In recognition of her inspired leadership of sustained excellence and valuable contributions to the field of project management, PMI India has conferred upon her the ‘Distinguished Fellow’ award in 2019. International Association of Management of Technology (IAMOT) Board has conferred upon her the ‘Distinguished Service Achievement Award in 2019 for exemplary service in the area of MOT.
